YWCA COVID-19 Response

A- A A+

YWCA of Central Virginia is continuing to serve our Central Virginia family during this unprecedented time as our nation battles COVID-19.

YWCA Operation Status

Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with Executive Orders from the Governor of Virginia, the YWCA of Central Virginia has closed its administrative offices and Church Street Bridal Shops until June 10, 2020, or until the Executive Order has been lifted.

YWCA Victim Services

Please know that your YWCA is still serving clients.  If you or a loved one needs assistance, please reach out to our Domestic Violence Prevention Program & Sexual Assault Response Program at any time

Emergency Shelter

  • The health and safety of the families in our emergency shelter is vital.  We are keeping a close watch on our survivors who are located in our confidential shelters currently, and working with partners to provide alternative accommodations for our new victims.
  • Our alternative accommodations were not included in our budget and are adding roughly $2,100 to our budget weekly to provide assistance for three families

Support Groups & Financial Empowerment Program

While this global pandemic will likely change the trajectory of how we treat illness, our communities will recover, and we will emerge stronger and better prepared for future challenges.

Thank you for your continued support of the YWCA of Central Virginia.
