Education and Outreach

YWCA of Central Virginia is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities. We are one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, serving over 2 million women, girls, and their families.  We accomplish this work not only through direct services from our key programs (DVPP, SARP, Town Center Women’s Housing) but through education and outreach to our community and beyond.  Due to this, your YWCA staff and Board of Directors are subject-matter experts and thought leaders in the areas of domestic and intimate partner violence, sexual assault and abuse, housing and poverty, racial justice, and gender-based bias and equity issues.

Please reach out to our offices if we could be of assistance at your community event, corporate training, church event, or school educational opportunity.
