NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ)

YWCA Central Virginia invites offers to submit quotations for repairs to our confidential shelter property.  The shelter property was completed in 1940 and is a brick structure located within the City of Lynchburg.  Repairs will be completed with the assistance of state and federal grant funding and require open procurement processes.  The repairs and maintenance that have been identified to us include:

  • Repairs to the exterior brick masonry/repointing of targeted areas
  • Repairs of exterior front façade awning
  • Repairs to the degradation of internal plaster walls
  • Repairs of plumbing to survivor restroom to ensure full function
  • Installation of overdoor HVAC system and/or best-suited HVAC system

Licensed and bonded contractors interested in the opportunity should reach out to the Chief Executive Officer of YWCA Central Virginia should they be interested in providing quotations for all or part of the requested repairs and installation. Information about the confidential shelter can be provided at that time, and arrangements to see the confidential shelter will only be provided to interested parties who can provide their credentials for the safety and security of our clients.

Due to limitations of our grant funding allocation please note that the YWCA has a firm maximum of $44,000 all in.  We are unable to engage in quotations that cost more than that maximum allowance.  YWCA would like to have all work completed and invoiced by mid-June 2021 if possible, again due to grant restrictions on funding usage.

YWCA values racial and gender diversity since our mission is to Eliminate Racism and Empower Women, therefore companies who are women-led, women-owned, minority-led, and/or minority-owned are encouraged to apply.

Questions or Submissions: Contact the YWCA Chief Executive Officer Pro Tem by phone at 434.847.7751 x301 or email: director @ywcacva.org (please close the added space before using email).  You may also reach out to our Board President, Sally Ann Schneider via email: president @ywcacva.org.
