YWCA Confirms Stephanie Andrews as Permanent CEO
[October 29, 2021, Lynchburg, Virginia] – YWCA Central Virginia’s Board of Directors announces Stephanie Andrews as official, permanent Chief Executive Officer.
YWCA Central Virginia’s Executive Committee has chosen to extend the official CEO position to Stephanie Andrews, a former YWCA Board of Directors Member and President. Stephanie has served as the association’s CEO Pro Tem since May 2021. Stephanie brings her extensive experience in business and organizational management to our association, along with her passion for the mission. Stephanie stepped into the Pro Tem role after the departure of Ashley Reynolds Marshall, who transitioned to be the first Deputy City Manager for Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion with the City of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Stephanie Andrews comes to YWCA from Lynchburg City Schools, where she worked in grant management, state reporting, and record maintenance. She previously worked with Centra, Horizon Behavioral Health, and Genworth Financial. She is an upstanding member of the community and volunteer for over 20 years. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Gamma Iota Omega Chapter, a Beacon Buddy with Beacon of Hope, a member of the Lynchburg Junior League, a member of the Coalition for HIV Awareness and Prevention (CHAP), a Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance (LRBA) Leadership Council Board Member among many other engagements in the Lynchburg area community.

YWCA’s staff and Board of Directors is not afraid to show their passion through the work and service that they provide to our community each and every day. I am excited to be a part of that passion, and look forward to leading the organization into the future as we continue to advocate for our community, our women, and for racial equity,” remarked Stephanie.
Stephanie lives with her husband, Anthony Andrews – a Lynchburg Fire Department Fire Captain, and two children in the City of Lynchburg. She is a graduate of Amherst High School, University of Lynchburg, has a Masters from Averett University. YWCA is excited to continue our forward momentum at the association with Stephanie’s help to ensure we continue to get up and do the work to eliminate racism and empower women.
