A Legacy of Dignity, Justice & Compassion

A pioneering past

The YWCA in Central Virginia has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 100 years — from voting rights to affordable housing to violence prevention.

A caring presence

We serve seven counties and one city, an area of 4,400 square miles with a population of more than 400,000. We currently host three key service programs: Domestic Violence Prevention Program, Sexual Assault Response Program, and Town Center Women’s Residential Housing Program.

A better tomorrow

We combine programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls.

A Trusted Community Partner

We thank these sponsors for coming alongside us to empower women and eliminate racism throughout our region.
